History

Early in 1997 the Co-founders of VacationRentals.com, Jeff Busche and James Villard, knew that the emerging World Wide Web would become the perfect venue for connecting property owners with vacationers seeking a private, home-like atmosphere for their accommodations. With Jeff's registration of the domain name "VacationRentals.com" and James' design of a Vacation Rentals Open Database System, the two were pioneers of the vacation rental industry. In late 2000 they combined their knowledge, experience and assets to create VacationRentals.com, an easy and efficient way to find and promote vacation rentals.

VacationRentals.com has experienced tremendous growth over the past few years and has quickly become one of the top vacation rental websites on the Internet. In 2007, VacationRentals.com was acquired by HomeAway, Inc. which operates the world's leading vacation rental websites. From condos to castles and family reunions to romantic getaways, the HomeAway sites connect travelers with the perfect rental, every time.
