  • Beautiful house located in a gorgeous part of Baja.

John and Joy’s house was the perfect house for our stay in Cabo Pulmo. The kids had the bottom level room with their own bathroom that opened up on the yard. Our in -laws had the master room on main level with their own bathroom. My husband and I had the room on top level with our own bathroom AND a patio with a view of the landscape, white sand dunes and the beautiful blue green sea! This top level patio was where everyone wanted to be especially during sunrise and sunsets! There is also a patio on main level with the same view. This house had enough space and privacy for all of us! The kitchen had everything we needed. John is very good with communication and took great care to make sure we enjoyed our stay in his home. The other thing we loved was the remote area, so peaceful and so relaxing to come home after a day at the surrounding beaches snorkeling and swimming. Cabo Pulmo and the East Cape in general is accessible by dirt roads only which we felt has kept the tourism at bay. The beautiful beaches were never crowded and sometimes we were the only ones. The town of Cabo Pulmo was a 25 minute drive from the house. It had a few dive shops and a few restaurants. We loved eating at Las Palapas right on the beach after snorkeling. We recommend getting a guide and going out on a boat to the coral reefs. The marine life was amazing especially the sea turtles! This house was perfect for out stay and we loved our time in Cabo Pulmo. If and when we return we will stay in John and Joy’s house.

  • Wonderful and secluded

We had 13 of us that stayed at the villa. Three families with young kids and several adults. The house and property are wonderful, the ocean view - amazing! We greatly enjoyed watching the whales and dolphins play from the pool. I think we of us would highly recommend this place as it really is a diamond in the rough. With that said please be advised the dirt roads are ROUGH. I saw a previous review that mention you might want a 4 wheel drive vehicle, but trust me you need one. Our little two wheel cars really took a beating (oops). Also, make sure you google earth the place and map directions closely prior to your arrival because it is literally in the middle of nowhere. Which, for our purposes, was awesome. Secondly the house runs on solar power with a backup generator. The power was fine unless you heated the hot tub after which expect to lose power in the early morning as it drains the batteries. Not a big deal, we just started the generator and were up and running again. The hotel close by had great food and were super welcoming. There are wonderful areas to scuba, snorkel and swim are close by, but really require a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get to. Wynn the house manager was fantastic. He stopped by the house regularly to check on us. We couldn't have asked for a better host.
