  • Quaint Interior, Close to Town

The home looks very much like photos. Nicely decorated and very clean inside despite unimpressive looking exterior. Hottub on back deck is wood, which we very much prefer to fiberglass. View of the ocean in the far distance at daytime. Good location for trips into Mendocino and not all that far from Fort Bragg. Bedding was nice quality for cold weather. No light weight options were provided for milder temperatures, as we had in October. Kitchen was well equipped with kitchenware but no basic staples. (No sugar for coffee even). With cost per night, we were surprised the usual hospitable gesture of a small welcome basket with coffee for one day and a few snack items was not provided.

This cottage was PERFECT. My husband and I drove up from the Bay Area. The cottage was easy to find. It was VERY CLEAN with a comfortable bed, nice and modern decor, and it was very QUIET. The cottage looks new or at least recently redone, because everything (carpet, cabinets, sink, couch) looks new. The nice lounge chairs outside are great for catching some afternoon sun. We saw turkeys in the front yard and even deer next door. The cottage has lots of big windows looking out onto the lawn, trees, flowers, and the ocean in the distance. The lighthouse is close by, but I recommend driving, as the 2-way street doesn't have much of a shoulder for pedestrians. The host was very easy to contact. I would definitely stay at Seadrift again. The perfect quiet relaxing getaway. We did a bit of sightseeing, but honestly, with the cottage's big windows and overall coziness, you could just stay in the cottage all weekend :)
