I have been renting homes and condos all over the US for the past few years using HomeAway and VRBO. This LA house is easily my favorite of the many that my family and I have stayed. The photos on this website are fine, but they really do not do this awesome house justice. The views are incredible...you can see Griffith Observatory and the Hollywood sign from the huge balcony (one of many balconies on this property). Dodger Stadium is 2 miles away, downtown LA is less than a 10 minute drive, as is Chinatown. Santa Monica and the beaches were a 45 minute drive away. The downstairs bedroom provides plenty of privacy, and the main bedroom has a jacuzzi, laundry machines, and backs up to an amazing garden that has several beautiful sitting areas of various heights and views overlooking Silver Lake. This location is ideal, being right in the middle of LA. We ended up Ubering around since all rides were between $10-$12, and parking anywhere in LA area is tight and expensive.
Jeffrey even turned the outdoor hot tub on for us so we could watch the sunset in style. We felt like rich Californians while staying in this house! Great experience and value!!
The immediate impression of the outside is bit off putting because the entrance to the apartment and adjoining apartments are a bit scary, but once you get inside - its cute and comfortable enough for 2. Had just a couple issues regarding the apartment itself. One of the patio chairs crumbled under me resulting in a super embarrassing fall, but thankfully I'm married and we had a good laugh! The individual heating/cooling units are bit challenging, but eventually we figured it out, and lastly we decided to do a quick load of clothes the morning we were leaving and the machine malfunctioned and we literally had to leave them behind because the door wound not open! This was frustrating because we had plans on the other side of LA and flights to catch, but shortly after we left we happen to still be in the neighborhood grabbing some food and owner called us and said the machine was now unlocked, so we rolled by and grabbed them.
We brought our pup and appreciated that the neighborhood had a cool dog park for both big and little dogs. There was only a few local eateries within walking distance by, but pretty good and very dog friendly. There was a small bar/club that we dropped into and got to hear some new music which was awesome! We stayed in our bubble and had enough to do to keep us entertained. Thanks Again!
