We were greeted by fresh flowers and a neat, clean cabin. It felt like home almost immediately. It was the perfect place for our family of four--just the right size with everything we needed (and more!), and the location worked really well for us. We enjoyed both the serenity of the creek and trail across the street and feeling secluded/away from it all, but also appreciated that we were a short drive to so many great restaurants (Garden of the Gods Market and Cafe), attractions (Pike's Peak; Air Force Academy), hiking (Garden of the Gods), and shopping (Manitou Springs). It was ideal for a balance of doing and being.
The kitchen is well equipped (we grilled and cooked several meals), the living space is open, the bedrooms provide drawers for unpacking and comfortable beds, there are plenty of towels, and the washer and dryer kept us from overpacking making travel easier. It was a little cool and rainy to fully enjoy the outdoor space while we were there, but we did have a meal on the picnic table and hung our ENO hammock a couple of days. There is an outdoor fire pit with skewers that would be fun to roast hotdogs and marshmallows.
We look forward to our next visit to enjoy this wonderful cabin in a great location!
Had a great stay in the Eagle's Nest. Although a late May snowstorm surprised us all, the cabin interior was very nice and heated! The master bedroom mattress was super comfortable and plenty of hot water in the shower/bath, which was a godsend after hours hiking in snow. I'd recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet getaway in a small town just outside of Manitou Springs.
