  • Wonderful stay -- great host, home and location

We had a wonderful one month stay at Heidi’s home in Eldora. The home has been nicely renovated with Viking appliances and an awesome double-headed large shower. The kitchen has all of the gadgets you need (blender, kitchen aid, chef’s knives, etc.) for cooking and baking. The bedrooms have fresh bedding and comfortable mattresses. There’s a cute woodburning stove that you can use (in addition to electric heat in every room) that gives you a nice country feel, especially when it snows! The home has many almost floor to ceiling windows that provide vistas of the surrounding mountains on both sides. You may also see some wildlife -- we saw a family of moose, some rabbits, and deer from inside the home. Eldora is a quaint old mining town nestled in a valley near the continental divide with mountains on 3 sides and a creek running through it. There aren’t any stores in Eldora, but it’s about 7 minutes away from Ned, where there are restaurants, coffee shops, and a supermarket. It’s a peaceful drive from Ned with nice views of plains and mountains. We were there when the leaves were changing and the colors were just phenomenal. There are plenty of hiking options and if you are into rock climbing, it apparently has a lot of routes. Heidi’s home is situated on one of the side streets off the main drive and is very quiet. Heidi is an exceptional host -- kind, generous, thoughtful, and respectful. She responded to us very quickly via the VRBO messaging system whenever we had a question. She knows the Eldora town/valley area super well and can recommend hikes, climbing routes, etc. if you want something that most other people don’t know about! She even took us out after a snowstorm for a “secret” hike in the valley and offered to let us use her snow boots and snow shoes. The house had been immaculately cleaned prior to our arrival and it seems she has thought of everything to make your stay a good one. All in all, you will likely not find a better host!

Easy to find and close to downtown Winter Park. View from patio was amazing & tranquil. We went to nearby grocery store to pick up coffee (that's the only item I wish was available). We left coffee the for the next guest. The master bath was very small and the tub was odd & would be very difficult to enter/exit (however, I has a disability). Happy the homeowner put piping around the metal staircase, that could hurt if you ran into it! We actually put a basket under it so we didn't accidently run into the bottom of the staircase.
