  • House was perfect.

The house had everything we needed for a restful, stress free vacation. The fall colors were in full transition and were breathtaking. The house itself was very comfortable and has a very well stocked kitchen. I had to work on the griddle so the grease could drain but that was not a big deal, just a little cleaning was all that was necessary. There are a lot of the light bulbs that are burned out but plenty of light to see. It was most problematic in the restrooms, but again, just a minor inconvenience. We loved the hot tub and the river running just below the house. I spent most of my mornings sitting on the deck, drinking coffee, and taking in the fresh mountain air as I listened to the river running below. Hwy 145 behind the house was never even noticed as there is very little traffic and the house sits below the highway so you don't even see the traffic much less hear it. Better direction finding the house would have been greatly appreciated as we arrived well after dark and had a very hard time finding the turn off. There are mile markers on the highway that could have been used in the directions which would have been very helpful. Trying to locate the house in the middle of the night after a very long drive to get there was a bit frustrating. We drove over to Durango and Ouray to ride the Durango Silverton train (which is a must I might add) and rent a jeep to go over the passes and it was a pretty good drive to both places from the house, but the drives were in some beautiful country and was not bad at all., I would definitely recommend this house for your vacation stay. Overall, our experience was very good and we had a wonderful time.
