We’ve just had a wonderful week in Tomislavovac. Everything, from our helpful host Ivana, to the comfortable house and peaceful surroundings meant that we enjoyed a very relaxed and happy holiday. The property is situated in a tiny village perched on a hillside, which means there are stunning valley views to be enjoyed from the terrace. There is easy access to historic towns such as Ston and pretty beaches such as Prapratno. We also travelled further afield to Dubrovnik for sea kayaking and were close enough to the border of Bosnia-Herzegovina to make a trip to Mostar. If you’re looking for simple, pretty accommodation in beautiful surroundings then this is the place.
We spent a week here with another couple and had a wonderful time. The unit is one of 4 or 5 attached units of a moderately bigger complex. This one was all on one level, very clean with a small kitchen, nice living/dining area and a wonderful veranda overlooking the Adriatic, just a few feet away on the other side of the one lane/two-way road (only a slight drawback until you get used to it). The water was spectacular and incredibly clear and calm. The people, sailing and power boat watching were entertaining and all the people we met were very friendly. The owners welcomed us there, were very responsive to questions and helped our other couple arrange for transport back to the Dubrovnik Airport. There is a clothes washer but not a dryer but we used the two drying racks on the veranda to handle the drying and that worked quite well. We spent a lot of time on the veranda enjoying the view morning, noon and night. Small pebble beaches were all along the road. Restaurants were good to very good and we had a lot of choices which was good since we chose not to cook for 7 days. We repeated dinner at one place one time just because we liked it so much. Now the downside items (which did not deter us)...Groceries - the Pemo store is described as small and that's giving it a generous description. Bare essentials at best. Shop at a bigger place before getting to Slano if you're really thinking of preparing any meal. On the plus side the wine and beer selection was reasonable. Beach Towels - for a place on the sea it would have been nice to have some. All in all we would highly recommend this as a place to try.
