We were warmly welcomed by the proprietors of the property and treated like family. They helped us out with details that required a French interpretation. We spoke very little French They are fluent in English, French, Greek, and German.
The property was well maintained all with updated appliances that are functional. One is able to cook dinner in the kitchen and enjoy a meal on the patio with a view of the
Luberon. Sunrises and sunsets are beautiful. The mornings and evenings were enjoyably cool. Our visit was mid to late September.
The beds and furniture were comfortable and all in all it felt like home.
We used the home as a "base camp" to explore the surrounding area for a week.
Our family of five had a wonderful stay in Provence. The house was very spacious and everything was brand new. The view from the kitchen and bedrooms was amazing. My kids and husband loved playing table tennis outside and even swam in the gorgeous pool in early April. Stéphane and his family were excellent hosts and helped with first aid when my son sprained his ankle (while playing table tennis!). We loved the goat and chicken and especially their dog. I can't say enough about how perfect this house was for us. We took day trips to Arles, Avignon, and Cassis, all short drives from Merindol. We had our own grill and a private garden area facing the national park. Even though the owner's house is on the same property, we had all the privacy we needed. I would really love to go back for a longer stay.
