  • A neat and interesting apartment in castle / chateau
    4 of 5

Great location close to some lovely chateaus. We arrived at 4pm to find the owner had sent an email advising we could not access the property to 6pm. As we had been travelling all day this message was not received until we had arrived. The apartment is as described but we found the furnishings overdone with items of decoration. There was no instruction booklet but rather a 1 page list of do nots concerning the overall chateau. Good WIFI. Poorly designed lounge area with the lounge facing away from the television and facing the billiard table, The billiard table was positioned in front of the television - quite strange. Bed was comfortable and hot water was great The apartment is at moat level so no view of the chateau or the lovely garden surrounds. Very nice grounds to wander through. Supermarkets were close by. Overall between 3 and 4 stars but an interesting experience none the less.

  • Great location and nicely renovated and decorated older home.

Visiting the Loire Valley from the US we stayed at Villa Theodora with 8 family members, all seniors. Property is older but upgraded and nicely renovated fairly recently. The six bedrooms gave all of us a private room, two couples and four single ladies. Some of the bedrooms had a sink so that took some pressure of the bathrooms. Kitchen has modern appliances and plenty of silverware, dishes and utensils. The pictures in the listing are pretty accurate. It’s an easy walk into Blois and reasonably central to drive to the various Chateaux in the area. We stayed for 8 nights and had a great time. The owner, Margurite Dumont was on premises to greet us and saw us off the morning we left. A delightful lady and when a couple minor issues came up she immediately resolved them. If we even get back to Blois we will want to stay here again.
