  • Wonderful stay
    5 of 5

Tony and Dawn were amazing hosts, genuinely interested in making our stay terrific. We received a warm welcome and immediately totally felt at home in this beautiful spacious apartment. Attention to detail is apparent throughout. Very well equipped kitchen, large bathroom with shower and separate full size bathtub. The bedroom is very spacious with comfortable queen size bed, quality bed linens and soft fluffy towels, lots of storage too. Private separate outdoor garden space including patio furniture and barbecue. We stayed for 7 nights, exploring castles in the area, also had use of trail bikes on site which was terrific for getting a bit of exercise to compensate for bread, pastries and wine! We would love to come back here again, and do not hesitate to recommend staying at Bluebell. The country setting is quiet and serene, it was perfect for a relaxing vacation get away. • Great house for vacationing in the Loire Valley
    5 of 5

This was a great house to rent for a two-week stay in the Loire Valley. While 1.5 hours from the big chateaus on the eastern end of the valley, it was very convenient to Saumur and Tours. The quiet neighborhood was a pleasure and we enjoyed driving through the countryside on our day trips to chateaus and cathedrals. The house was well furnished and had everything we needed, including English TV channels. It doesn't have heat, though, and our first few nights were pretty cold, but the portable electric heaters kept us comfortable. We also enjoyed relaxing out in the backyard when the weather warmed up. The wi-fi was up and down for no apparent reason, which was a minor irritation. Nigel, who serves as the property manager, was very helpful and delightful to talk with. It was a relief to have an English-speaking contact just a phone call away. The nearby town of Mouliherne was a bit of a disappointment as the one restaurant wasn't open until June, but we found restaurants in other towns nearby. The Super U supermarket in Longue Jumelle (14 miles away) was fabulous and we enjoyed fish & chips night with British expats at the Cafe Musee in Parcay le Pins. The Wednesday market in Bourgeil is a good one, about 30 miles away. We loved our time in the Loire Valley!
