  • What joy! Living in a beautiful white house in the middle of purple grapes! 5 stars

Our stay in Avensan in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards was even more special due to the ready friendship of Nicole and Daniel, who happen to live in the big house next door. Everything sparkled and along with all the large windows were "robotic" shades that functioned with a remote. We loved the new red kitchen so well supplied with all our needs and enjoyed the patio and figs from the trees. Daniel replaced a light bulb for us and Nicole assisted us with answers to all questions. We felt so at home with their hospitality. If you need a change from big city touring and enjoy learning about wine making this is the place for you. Vineyards all around offer tours and we also recommend driving to the Arcachon Basin for the oysters and beautiful views of boats on the bay. You can even walk the sand dunes. --Bernie, Linda and David, USA

  • Lovely, roomy, very clean — historic charm and contemporary comforts.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. As B&B owners, ourselves, we know how much consideration and hard work go in to running such a fine accommodation. Sarah and Patrick are kind and engaging hosts. Their being British is something of a bonus for non-French speaking guests. We wish we could have stayed longer.
