  • Wonderful stay!

We spent 12 days in Karen and Terry's lovely gite in July. We had a fantastic time! The gite is spacious and practically laid out for a group of 4, impeccably clean, and well equipped. All appliances were spotless and worked perfectly. We so enjoyed coming back to the house every night after exploring the surroundings - it is such a place of peace and quiet, just so relaxing. The location is perfect with short distances to any number of gorgeous beaches around. We are absolutely considering coming back next year, and can only highly recommend the gite and Karen and Terry's warm hospitality!

  • Inoubliable!

We’re Americans who love France and the French and this visit to Paimpol made us love them even more. We give our highest recommendation to this cute country gîte and its wonderful and gracious hosts, Michel and Catherine. The interior décor is a sea and marine theme and very practical and comfortable, with a large living area and kitchen with everything we needed; bed and bathroom are upstairs. Their yard and flowers are beautiful, immaculate, exactly as pictured on the HomeAway listing. I wish I could give them 10 stars, not 5! We stayed September 10 through 25, 2014 and while we prepared for wet weather it was dry, sunny and beautiful. We would recommend visitors have some fluency in French. If I could describe our stay in one word it would be 'inoubliable'. This was one of the best trips to France we've ever had and we’ve been here seven times. We were especially charmed by the wonderful, warm greeting from Michel and Cathy every single time we saw them, whether at the gîte or downtown Paimpol. They made our visit so special. They literally led us to places the casual traveler would not even know about, restaurants, beaches, lots of scenic hiking trails and overlooks, like the “Côte Granite Rose”, with its unusual, natural rock formations. About five minutes away is Ledano beach, on the Trieux estuary, (http://bretagne-sous-marine.e-monsite.com/pages/les-cotes-d-armor/l-estuaire-du-trieux), under the bridge to Lezardrieux, the next town west on the D786; the tide fills and empties it twice a day - really impressive to watch if you have the time. There’s also a nice walking trail there, too, that skirts the edge of the estuary. Nearby are lots of castles (even more to the east, near Dinan), and small weekly markets at Lezardrieux or in larger towns such as Paimpol. This wonderful little gîte puts you right in the heart of the northern coast of Brittany.
