I spent 4 days on the boat a few days ago. Sitting out on the back deck area with a glass of wine watching the boats go by has been one of the most enjoyable and relaxing things I have ever done, and is definitely the highlight of a stay here. John checked in on me frequently when he wandered by, and was a tremendous help with information on the area. If you are nice to him, you might also get some of his delicious spelt bread, which I ate with some goat cheese on one of those afternoons on the deck.
The kitchen is well furnished and has all the plates, utensils, and appliances you could want. My only caveat on the boat is that you have to know what you are getting and be OK with that in advance. John has perfectly described the place. But read carefully - it is not for everyone. It does not have a large sitting area with a big TV, and the bathroom requires some manual operation. But if you enjoy life on the river, it is a delightful place. And it just short walk away from a couple of restaurants and a grocery store. Which makes it all the more convenient,
Thanks for everything, John!
Communication with property manager had some problems because of the Home Away app, which did not work well and prevented communication.
The owner, who lives on the property was very gracious, friendly and helpful. The apartment is quite rustic. Location is quiet, close to the town center, which has a great bakery. I biked in for croissants in the morning. Great loction to tour this part of France.
