- Great apartment in the heart of Vieux Lyon
Our stay chez Marie was the highlight of our trip to France this fall. The apartment is perfect for visiting Lyon, as everything is in walking distance. As with all downtown apartments, there is a bit of noise at night (when the restaurants close down) but it adds to the experience. I'm a light sleeper and it didn't bother me. The apartment sits above a typical Lyon Bouchon. the best part of that is the incredible aroma you smell when entering or exiting the front door. The open floorplan of the kitchen and living room is wonderful. The windows open up to Rue du Boeuf, a cobblestone pedestrian rue lined with some of Lyons finest restaurants and bouchons.The kitchen has all you need to cook, but why would you? Too many places to eat, too little time. Marie has everything to make your stay comfortable, sleep inducing beds and a luxurious bathroom. The towel warming rack was my favorite plus (we stayed in November). There is a small laundry room with a combo wash/dryer. Marie's place is chic, urban, comfortable and a great home away from home. We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment in vieux Lyon. We like to walk and the location is excellent; a very short walk to the narrow streets and interesting shops in old Lyon and a half hour walk on the other side of the Saône river to the heart of the newer section of the city. The apartment had everything we needed, was clean, modern and very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Lyon.
