  • Lovely chateau stay in the French countryside!
    5 of 5

Everything about this chateau is charming. The hosts were so very friendly and attentive to ensure we had everything we needed. While they reside next door they were never intrusive. We enjoyed hearing about the property from Phillip. Our boys (ages 8 and 11) LOVED Luna, Pako and Norway- the three dogs on site. They were the perfect welcoming and exiting company each time we arrived and departed the property. We enjoyed exploring the grounds, visiting the geese and other wildlife in this forested area. In October the temps were cool so they boys did enjoy a quick dip in the pool which would be lovely during the warmer months. The chateau itself is definitely special - tasteful, cozy and equipped with almost anything you will need. Do note: the kitchen does not have an oven which I didn't read or know beforehand. However, Phillip ensured we had charcoal to grill and that worked out well. Thank you, Dubost Family, for the lovely stay and recommendations for restaurants and places to go! The close proximity to St. Emilion, Bordeaux and other wine regions made the trip even better. Thank you for the lovely state - we do hope to come back!

  • A Lovely Gite for Two near St. Emilion
    4 of 5

Jane was a perfect hostess, friendly and always ready to help. Her gite was a perfect size for two people in a quiet rural area not far from St. Emilion. Kitchen was well outfitted for cooking at home. Bedroom with its lovely wood armoire and comfortable bed provided us restful sleep and plenty room for clothes storage. Living room had a comfortable couch and chair. TV had plenty of channels in English including CNN and BBC News and the ability to play DVDs many of which were already provided. One hopes soon that mobile phone coverage enabling internet access will soon reach the area, otherwise everything else was wonderful.
