We spend almost a month in this house. We had our cat with us and Nicki was very helpful and brought us cat litter beforehand. Our cat loved to run up and down the long stairway of this 4-floor house. But please be careful when using the stairs. Children especially. There were barriers available for small children or animals.
We did not have a car, but the house was close to a train station and we took many walks around town and the surrounding nature. The big supermarket was a suitable walking distance away.
The house was on sale during the time we stayed. There was almost a house viewing, but it was cancelled. Too bad we do not have enough money to buy a house, because this house did leave a charming impression.
There were plenty of books, movies and music to entertain ourselves with. Homeaway overview text mentions Xbox, but that was not around (anymore?). There was many board games, though.
We would especially recommend this house for those visitors who do not speak French, since English was the primary language of the house.
We were three couples and spent three nights in this old lovingly restored old house. Lori and Chris were absolutely superb hosts. Since they themselves were transplants from England and USA we felt like we were with family. The facilities were not only fully furnished with everything we could need, but were well designed for maximum comfort. We are at the end of a long uninhabited road on the slope of a wonderful valley which one could just sit all day and absorb the sounds of farm and nature. The Eymoutiers area was tourist-sparse when we were there, so we enjoyed hiking around the lake area our hosts recommended as well as being near enough to visit surrounding communities such as Limosin. This is really a spot of heaven that allows a traveler to slow down a while, smell the roses and see a part of France not overwhelmed with tourists. Thank you, Chris and Lori, for an unforgettable stay!
