  • Stunning Stay in Saussignac!
    5 of 5

What a beautiful B&B! Pauline and her husband have renovated an old house into a magazine worthy B&B. Attention to detail abounds. Each morning Pauline had a lovely spread of local fare for breakfast. She was very helpful in local events, including a night market which was full of local artisans offering foods and locally made items. We had an amazing meal and listened to a gentleman play the accordion - straight out of a movie. We would highly recommend staying here! Saussignac has been our favorite spot in France!

  • Perfect place for 3 families to relax in France

6 adults, 5 children and 2 perfect weeks in France. We had a fantastic holiday at L'ane Vert and it more than lived up to our expectations. We settled in so easily that it felt like home and we were all sad to leave. It ticked every box for what we wanted, and more. We enjoyed staying at the property so much that we only ventured out sight seeing on a couple of occasions. There was more than enough to keep the children happy while the adults could enjoy time to themselves trying the local wine and food. The heated pool was fantastic and the children spent most of the day in it. When they weren't in the pool they were playing in the very large gardens, or exploring the private woods, or walking through the meadow with the friendly horse and donkey, or collecting berries for fruit crumbles. The fishing in the lake was very good, caught quite a few 4 - 6lb carp off the surface, lovely way to spend a few hours late afternoon while enjoying a cold beer. The gite was extremely well equipped and there wasn't anything else that could have been done to improve this. All the rooms were very clean and the bedrooms very comfortable. Plenty of seating outside and the covered outside dining area was perfect for long lunches and even longer evenings. 10 minute easy walk to the village for fresh croissants every morning. Marie-France and Harry were excellent hosts, very sociable, and clearly very proud of their property. They live next door and totally respect your privacy but are always on hand if you need anything. Bongos by the campfire after midnight is an evening I wont forget in a hurry. The children enjoyed going with Harry on his regular afternoon walks through the woods with his 2 goats. We will visit again as I think it will be impossible to find a better gite that is so well located. Thank you Marie-France and Harry.
