We can't say enough about this property! It's a stand-alone house on the property of a large house, where the property owner, Corine, and her mother live. The whole property is gated and you will receive a fob with which to open the gate along with keys to your place. Corine was prompt and anticipatory in communicating with us, and met us to guide us to the property, as it appears that there is not a traditional street address. Neither Corine nor her mother speak English, but that did not stop us from feeling very welcomed into their guest house. They took time to speak with us, give us information on things to do in the area, and even gave us a bottle of wine during our stay! The grounds of the property are lovely, including the yard, the deck/patio, and the pool. Neptune, the resident dog, needs some persuading that you are a friend, but once convinced that you are safe, he is very sweet and playful (he loves to fetch pinecones). The property is outside of Prades proper, and the city is not really walkable from there, but we were able to find adequate parking in multiple car parks around town. check out the Tuesday market in Prades, which extends over the whole town.
The guest house is cozy, clean, and comfortable. The bed is the largest on which we stayed during our whole 3-week adventure in southern France. It was a true American king-size bed, for those of you who have struggled to decipher the American-European bed conversion like we did. The wifi signal is weak, but that was a minor issue. There is a wall a/c-heating unit that worked well.
We adored Corine, her mother, Neptune, and their place. We would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.
