  • Plenty of room

The property has plenty of room for a big family. There are 3 queen bedrooms with en suite bathrooms as well as 1 bedroom with a full size bed and bunk beds that has a bathroom in the hallway. There is a very small twin room in the same hallway. The furniture is a little older but still functional. Within the neighborhood are 4x4 trails that take you to beautiful waterfalls. The only drawback was that the TVs in the house are seriously out of date. But it did make us spend more time together playing games than watching TV so in the end it wasn’t so bad.

  • Fantastic !!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time visiting The Shack! The accommodations were fantastic. We have four children, all in high school or college. Sometimes it is hard to find a place with the right kind of sleeping arrangements so everyone will be comfortable. Everyone had plenty of room. The house is located right by one of the trails. Our middle daughter took several runs on that trail and loved running in nature! Our boys enjoyed walking to the end of the trail to fish. Unfortunately, the fish weren’t really biting... it was a bit chilly. We cooked several meals at the house. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances and dishes, which makes it easy to just buy the groceries and cook! Everything we needed was stocked. That is a huge plus! The Big Canoe community was fabulous. We enjoyed hiking and hiked most of the trails. The waterfalls and trails are just gorgeous. The weather didn’t cooperate as much as we had hoped or we would have done them all!! The only downer for Our trip was the dining. Several of the local restaurants were closed... I think they were taking a vacation during the week of New Years. I would highly recommend the accommodations. We all had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings !
