This apartment was the attic unit in a house that has several apartment units. The best feature of this house is its location on S8 train route between international airport and downtown Munich. S-bahn has a bottleneck in Munich best represented by the fact that there is only 2 platforms for all the S-bahn lines at the central Hauptbahnhof. S8 operation through downtown was shutdown during the weekend we were there. The apartment is small and really isn't suitable for more than 2 persons. It has a cooktop, microwave and a refrigerator so adequate for preparing breakfast and light meals. The nicely appointed bathroom has a small shower and a large sink with ample shelf space. The washer in basement requires 2 euro to operate. The clothes dryer was free to use. The one quark that we weren't expecting was a wifi connection that required a startup page with an 'policy acceptance button' that must be clicked to enable internet connection (similar to hotels). Not aware of this, our IOS devices didn't connect as the start-up page doesn't come up without 'forcing it' that took us an hour to figure out. Beyond that it wasn't possible to connect our Apple TV and my Nook as there isn't a way for them to accept a startup page. Besides the close proximity to S-bahn station, there is a good neighborhood grocery nearby and a nice hotel restaurant on corner. If you like to walk we took a delightful 10 km walk from the Unterfohring apartment down the canal west of town and through the large English Garden park to Odeonsplatz. Our host was responsive to all of questions prior to arrival and during our stay.
