We had a great stay at this property! The house is well maintained and clean, close walk to Otranto historic downtown, and in a quiet dead end street. I would strongly recommend it. The dependence gets really hot and steamy since it doesn’t have A/C, but in the main house it’s perfect. Thank you Sergio for your hospitality!
We had a great time in Torre at Lia's place. She was available and quickly responded to any problems that arose. We even were able to enjoy an impromptu city walking tour of Lecce with her son. We were constantly communicating and the location was perfect for a vacation with children. The water is clear and the beach is a short walk away. The water was shallow to go in and about 20°Celcius water temperature at the beginning of June. If you don't like crowds, don't come here during holidays or in July/August. There are other, less crowded beaches to explore a short car ride away. There are mostly Italians at this beach, but it's also a great jumping off place if you want to explore other parts of the Salento region. This is a pretty down to earth part of Italy, so don't expect a fancy resort town. There are little stores with fresh bread, produce and meats/cheeses all over town but most of those don't open until June for the season. Overall we really enjoyed our stay in Lia's house. The kitchen has everything you need to cook some great local dishes and several patios are available for relaxing and eating outdoors. My kids definitely made some good memories. The people are friendly around here and even though not a lot of people understand English, they will try to accommodate you. Overall a great experience. It's also nice to be able to park your car behind a gate if you have a rental.
