  • Great appartment centrally in Northen Tuscany
    5 of 5

The apartment is centrally located in northen Tuscany only a 30 - 60 minutes drive away from attractions like Lucca, Pisa, Cinque Terre and Florence, Montecatini Alto and Bagni di lucca to name a few. Great beaches like Lido di Camaiore are only 15 minutes away. The apartment which was very clean has a large kitchen and dining room with all appliances needed, 2 bathrooms with showers and 3 bedrooms. The showers were good as was the bed we slept in. The apartment has a good wireless connection, tv's, an alarm system, a washing machine and private parking. The house, which is attached to a church, is beautiful and has a large private garden where you can enjoy your meals or just relax and bask in the sun. There are hiking trails nearby and the Via Francigena trail lies through the village. There are several restaurants to pick from but we always picked Le Meraviglie across the street. We highly recommend this restaurant. Alessio was very kind and helpful and met us even though we arrived late in the evening and had prepared a very welcome treat for us with local wine, cheese and more. He explained everything concerning the appartment and surroundings. This is a perfect place to stay if you prefer a spacious apartment with a private garden away from the crowds but still a short distance from main attractions.

  • This is the most beautiful house and as others have remarked it is like a museum.

Loved staying here, the house is filled with country antiques, old books, magazines from the 1930’s. The rooms are small but perfect in every way. Beds comfortable, excellent shower. The ladder stairs may be a challenge for some, I’m not that agile but justcamedown backwards and had no problem. The house is well equipped, great kitchen with everything you want, I think it is equipped for their own big family gatherings. Nice outside table in the lovely garden with stunning views. The photos on VRBO are exactly as it is. It is hard to believe that the family allow other guests to stay here. The house has been in the family for 3 or 4 generations. We arrived at night and had a bit of a problem finding it do arrive in day light if possible. The brown gets say Bafonni on them and the house is a right and second rights. More brown gates into the garden. There is only one restaurant in Padona but we ate there four times, wonderful food, not at all expensive and not filled with tourists. Note that it is closed on Tuesdays. Carrera marble quarry tour was amazing, Pietrasanta is a must stop for an hour, see the main squares. CinqueTerra was good but very busy. Loved Lucca. Tried to swim but everywhere is private you pay for a chair for the day. We discovered later there are free beaches if you know where to look. Note that it takes 10minutes drive down the windy road before you reach the main road to get anywhere. Apparently there is a national park south of Viareggio where you can park and walk to beach. We would absolutely stay here again if we returned to the area. Our hosts where charming we were so glad to meet them when we arrived.
