We had a great time in Sicily, we enjoyed the full 8 days and seven nights. Villa Ruffino is an excellent place from where you can explore the island. We went to: San vito lo capo 1h 15 min. must seen white beach and blua ocean Monreale less than 45 min. Beautiful monestary gardens and cathedral Etna 4h drive but it was worth it! Also the road true the inlands was gorgeous. Palermo, nice city within only one hour drive Several beaches also at castellamare del Golfo (nice town) ... Alcamo 15 min. Surprisingly nice with some good restaurants. For all this we rented a car at the Palermo airport (30 min from the house). And this is a must have when you go to Villa Raffino. Thanks for having us! Best regards, From the total family!

We had a fantastic time at this old converted farmyard. This is a beautiful old place and it's getting renovated unit by unit. It was cool to see the difference between old and new. The decoration is very tasteful in a minimalist sort of way. The bathroom is lovely and comfortable. Elena, the owner, was not there herself but we kept in close phone and WhatsApp contact and she was amazing - and speaks fluent German. Her tips for sights and restaurants were also great. There are three cute cats who became our friends along with pig Guiseppina who lives outside the place in a lemon tree garden (you don't see or smell her unless you look for her) and who loved our veggie peels. The location is an ideal starting place for exploring the west of Sicily. But you do need a car. The island was still very quiet and not very touristy at that time of year. We'll be back.
