My husband and I just stayed here on our first trip to Rome. We chose this neighborhood because we were told it was less touristy. That was absolutely the case compared to some of the other places we explored in Rome. Yet, there were still so many great places to go and things to see in this neighborhood as well. Romula and her husband greeted us upon arrival and were very warm. They gave us the essential info and made us feel comfortable right away. We walked pretty much everywhere from this location , although we took a cab to the train station when we left for Florence. Even though this place is in the heart of the action in Trastevere, it is surprisingly quiet in the apartment and we slept very well. If we ever come back to Rome I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
I was originally a bit hesitant about the location of the apartment but it was wonderful! The apartment was wonderful and we were very glad for the air conditioning as it was very hot. We didn't cook but the kitchen was well stocked with essentials. The beds were very comfortable. While we did a fair amount of walking, nothing seemed very far.
Alessandro is a wonderful host and even left us delicious sweets! She was very accommodating with our arrival and let us check in early. She was helpful and very responsive with questions and suggestions. She arranged a taxi for our departure and was happy to help.
We hope to rent the apartment again when we return to Rome!
