We spent two weeks in this lovely house in Aug 2018 (me, wife, daughter and a small chihuahua). The interiors are done with a very good taste and a lot of decor is from early 20th century or even earlier, but all is in very good and solid condition. Bathrooms are very clean, also for my quite demanding wife. A barbecue on the terrace (also very comfortable sunbeds btw) was a good addition, a couple of times we bought fresh gamberoni from the pescheria located just under our windows. The view and the area is nice and romantic as in other old towns in Salento. All the shops are within 500m, a top restaurant with an exquisite menu is right behind the corner. Very good beaches 30min away by car, we chose Lido Marini as our favourite. Beware of some expensive beaches, we went once to Coco Loco just nearby and paid 50eur for three beds and an umbrella. Then bought our own umbrella and enjoyed the beach at no cost. Thanks a lot to Giulio and Roberto who helped us during our stay. The house is highly recommended, especially for the value!

  • A lovely house in a village with some interesting restaurants and close to beaches

We enjoyed our time in this beautiful Villa. The conversion was done very well and retained elements of the wine making history (under the kitchen floor!). The pool was perfect for our four kids. In the morning could walk to a café and shops very easily and at night there were good pizzerias and of course Farmacia dei Sani for an upmarket night out. The 15 minute drive to sit outside and have a fantastic pizza Pizzeria Borgo Vecchio in Miggiano is well worth the trip. One of us is coeliac and gluten free was not a problem in most places. The Ionian beaches are long perfect sandy beaches that are great for whiling away a lazy day. The Adriatic side has large rock pools which are great for swimming, but few comfortable sitting options. Otranto and Lueca are well worth going to for dinner and an evening wander. Compared to Tuscany and the northern lakes, this part of Puglia has a low key vibe and is lovely for a family holiday. It helps if you have a few words of Italian.
