  • Great villa with beautiful garden and view on the sea!

We had a wonderful time at this property in July. We stayed there with our 3 small children and the house is ideal for families. It has a spacious living and dining room, open kitchen, nice bedrooms (one with bunk beds for the kids), toys for the kids, most necessary appliances and a very nice outdoor area with garden, veranda, outside shower and kitchen. The house is also very well located between Palermo and Cefalu with easy access to the main motorways to Agrigento, Trapani or Messina. Lots of nice towns and sites to visit in the area. The better beaches are a short drive away, some restaurants in the local town and others in Palermo and Cefalu of course. The owner Sarah is very kind and welcoming, she showed us around upon arrival, made sure we had everything we needed (including baby bed and high chair for our little one) and even went grocery shopping for us on our first day when we arrived tired on a Sunday afternoon. All in all a great place to be recommended to anyone that wants to explore Sicily!

  • Don’t miss this lovely view, lovely home, lovely Owners!

Maria, the delightful owner, and her English speaking relative were waiting at the end of the driveway to welcome us upon our arrival to this clean, lovely, well appointed home in an idyllic setting. While Maria spoke little English, communication was not a problem because both Maria and I had translation apps on our phones. The house sits right on the sea as the photos show, and we ate every breakfast at the table overlooking the sea. Maria and Angelo had welcome gifts waiting for us —- Sicilian sweets, wine, a huge bowl of fresh fruit, milk in the refrigerator, cookies and crackers in the cupboard, coffee, tea, etc. —- all appreciated, unexpected, and delicious! The beds/pillows were very comfortable, house was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and safe (Angelo even brought over a DVD player for us); the kitchen had many items to facilitate cooking meals. The view was delightfully beautiful accented with blooming flowers and green space, and the food markets were close at hand. Several times we walked a few properties down the road to Balistrieri’s, a family owned restaurant with fresh seafood selections (caught that day!) which delighted all 4 of us. A property can be beautiful but what adds quality to a stay are the people—-owners like Maria and Angelo, their relative, the restaurant owners, the market staff who worked extra hard to help us find items, the Italian guide who helped us understand Sicily and her culture, all adding much more to our vacation than we expected! Nothing like the fresh food in Sicily, a generous and gracious host, a beautiful setting at the sea, and a delightful people with their historically rich culture. We would return to Maria’s home and Sicily in the future with no hesitation.
