This is a great place to get away from the crazy tourist life. It is a cozy little get-away with great views of the lake. Lucia is super helpful and knowledgeable about the area. There are three restaurants within walking distance from this location, with a bus stop right near by. I would advise having a rental car if you want to explore the area as the bus tends to be very full. There are many great hikes right out the door.
cosy, original rustico, as described, situated in nice chestnut forest. access to house is quite steep, last 50m of road is gravel, you have to carry all luggage up, unless you come by 4x4.
surrounding is calm, good privacy in spite of apartments nearby. house is newly renovated, still retaining it's original charm and well maintained. we liked details like the stone sinks in kitchen and bath. main room with galleria, even better than on pictures. thick stone walls will leave it cool inside even when hot in summer. detailed instructions are provided by owner and good documentation on local tours and culture, good service and housekeeping.
amenities are good, enough space for two or more. kitchen is small but ok for occasional cooking. what we missed were simple wine glasses in the kitchen and we would have liked a double bed on the gallery instead of the retractable one, so we had to use the bed-sofa in the living room.
we liked to do trips with our bikes, hiking in the forest and sailing on lake como.
