  • Autumn in Maine
    5 of 5

In autumn, the forest leaves whisper alizarin crimson, burnt sienna, and Indian yellow as they thread their voices through October’s quiet. The brilliant colors contrast to the beds of pine needles silently carpeting the earth. October in Maine is a slow sunset, morning mists mimicking clouds and crisp, cool air that transforms words into white smoke. The cottage on Highland Lake was the perfect location to enjoy Maine’s autumn splendor. As they say in Maine, the “camp” had all the amenities of home with the charm of childhood memories. It became home base to explore Bridgton, Cornish, and Naples. What a wonderful way to spend the first week in October. Thank you, Liz, for being our host.

Even though we experienced heavy rains during our stay, we were very comfortable in the cottage and were very impressed with the renovation. We would definitely consider staying here again.
