Could use a curtain in main level restroom. Several light bulbs blown. Could use little bit better directions of what to do when closing up the house. But, was very happy with the way the kitchen had all the essentials, loads of towels, etc. Very quiet and beautiful area. Would stay again. It was the best week ever.
We had such a relaxing and quiet time at Jim's property, from the moment we arrived through to when we sadly had to say goodbye to this lovely location. There is a tremendous amount of information made available about the area both at the house and emailed from Jim before arrival, all of which I found very useful and nearby Bethel has a well stocked information centre too. The most noise from the lake was from the occasional limited throttle speedboat with either a water-skier or tube in tow, even then that was restricted to some of the afternoons - the house I think is at the quieter end of the lake, even with a modest boat launch nearby we weren't bothered and enjoyed waving at the happy water-goers! Our kids adored the dock to jump off and play around in the lake - we brought a couple of our own kayaks but also used those kindly provided by Jim...our eldest daughter quickly endeared to going out on the SUP and all three spent time catching crawfish in the decent sized sandy area right in front of the house. Although there's no air con as such, the high ceiling fan does a good job of moving the air around and the house stayed relatively cool anyway (lots of tree shade too). A very well-stocked kitchen area, plenty of beds and some comfy chairs all make a happy stay even better. The station / mart in town was only a few minutes drive away - had to try the breakfast pizza, yum! Plenty of fabulous hiking opportunities nearby and further on to the White Mountains, with waterfalls, covered bridges and scenic driving abound - loved this area and the house, thank you Jim for allowing us to stay for a while :-)
