  • The rustic paradise we needed for our wedding weekend
    5 of 5

We stayed here for our wedding weekend. The house was able to accommodate our entire wedding party and had ample room outside for our ceremony and reception to be in different areas. The home is beautiful and tucked away from it all. The lakefront during the foliage season made for what will be some truly incredible wedding pictures. Our guests were thrilled with the venue of our wedding and many planned to book their families weekend getaway. We were so busy experiencing the home, that we didn't even get a taste of the outdoor activities the property offers during both summer and winter months. A gem in the Maine woods.

  • Autumn in Maine

In autumn, the forest leaves whisper alizarin crimson, burnt sienna, and Indian yellow as they thread their voices through October’s quiet. The brilliant colors contrast to the beds of pine needles silently carpeting the earth. October in Maine is a slow sunset, morning mists mimicking clouds and crisp, cool air that transforms words into white smoke. The cottage on Highland Lake was the perfect location to enjoy Maine’s autumn splendor. As they say in Maine, the “camp” had all the amenities of home with the charm of childhood memories. It became home base to explore Bridgton, Cornish, and Naples. What a wonderful way to spend the first week in October. Thank you, Liz, for being our host.
