We had a great stay here. It is nicely decorated, but not stuffy. Everything we needed for a relaxing getaway!

We are close to town but a little too far to walk in the winter. Our thanksgiving dinner in the elegant dining room was special. We purchased everything we needed at Wegmans in Frederick, (loved that store, I wish I had known they also have a restaurant in the grocery store, it’s better than Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods). They offer full semi prepared meals. There were nine of us and we had plenty of room, only needed one person for a couch. I would love to come back in the summer and sit on the two porches, one one the front and one upstairs, but it was 29 degrees and raining on a couple of days but we played games, watched football and worked extreme picture puzzles, which we left. It was an easy commute downtown to park near the mall and tour the monuments and museums. We did look for a blow dryer and could not find one but everything else, especially the kitchen was fantastic. I wasn’t sure if I should provision the house with everything but we did just in case. There were already provisions here such as cooking oil, salt and pepper and spices FYI. We had dinner one night at the Anvil which was terrific and close by. The first night we had the best kabobs at a Mediterranean restaurant in Charles town good times!!!
