We had a great time here this past weekend. Although it was snowing most of the week, the roads were easy enough to travel ( I do have a pick up) and the cabin is not too far from the main highway (NY-145) if you are concerned about the winter months. I followed Google maps and Karlau road was was not available to turn on, maybe I just missed it but I just continued a few minutes on E Conesville until I hit Bear Kill road. We had very quick access to heat with the ductless split units and wood stove. You should ask Joseph if he has any wood available as I personally like using the wood stove more so I was advised to bring my own wood when I asked if any was there. Everything else that you need is available, electric stove, refrigerator, coffee maker etc. The TV besides the satellite stations has ROKU built-in so our Netflix subscription worked well with the WIFI connection. We only traveled once outside the cabin to Heather Ridge farm for breakfast which was less than 12 miles away depending on the route you take. You get some very nice views via Shale Pit Rd but without 4x4 it could be scary to some as there was plenty of snow, we took the Potter Mountain Rd route on way back to the cabin. The cabin was secluded and very peaceful, it was very clean and we had a great experience overall. I would definitely come back during any season and highly recommended it for a peaceful and relaxing getaway.

The house was exactly as advertised, it was very quaint and cosy, and the attention to small details made it extremely attractive inside. Even though it is small you don't feel too cramped. The kitchen had everything we needed in terms of crockery (some condiments but no olive oil, a selection of teas that was appreciated, and the coffee was available and ready to use). We did bring a dutch oven to cook on the stove top since there is no actual oven, which I knew ahead of time. As per previous reviews a couple of things to note: the heating does make a loud clicking noise - I had followed the owners recommendation to the previous visitor and turned the thermostat down before going to bed which solved the issue. The house is close to the owners property but feels very private since it is fenced in and you have a large garden which felt like it was our own - it does look like it is shared with another house that is on air and b however, so I imagine if that one was occupied during the stay and people were out in the garden it would have felt less private. The location is very convenient for hiking trails, and the town of Woodstock. Whilst it is walking distance we did not feel safe walking at night since it is a country road and extremely dark without much lighting - but Ubers were available. The weather was really cold during our stay and I could not get the sauna hot enough to really enjoy it - I am not sure if this was due to the outside temperature or the fact that it is electric and not steam operated - that said I am sure if I had contacted the property manager I would have been able to get assistance, we just got busy doing other things and abandoned the idea. The shower is in an odd place as previously described. It is not particularly convenient to dry off in the kitchen but that is the layout of the house is and we were expecting it from reading the reviews; it is offset by the fact that there is a skylight so you are showering under the stars which is a nice touch. From a space perspective it would have been nice to have a separate bedroom, but it is a studio and is advertised as such so you know that, and there is so much to do in the area we (myself, my boyfriend and our dog) weren't in the house enough for it to be much of an issue. Chelsea set everything up for us well with regards to instructions prior to arrival and was very communicative during checkout. Very happy with our stay!
