I treated myself to a weeklong 70th celebration with family and friends in this delightful home. We had everything we needed for old and young alike. Plenty of space, fully stocked (don’t bring anything but your clothes and toiletries), lots to keep you occupied while at the house, and it was remarkably clean. Even though we were not “in season”, there were plenty of things around to keep us busy such as Carousel Museum, apple picking, wineries, Thomas Edison birthplace, fall festivals and more. There are plenty of comfortable places to sit and read. The north side of the house has a fantastic room overlooking the water. The grandchildren loved doing artwork, reading and playing in there. The enclosed wraparound porch was such a delightful area to relax, play, read, and visit. We enjoyed the living room with the pool table, fireplace, and conversation area. The dining room was super! Big long table that easily held all of us! The 6 bedrooms were good sized...the beds were ok...not the best nor the worst. Larger sizes would have been nice, but they worked. The kitchen is adequate...needs some updating but functional. Overall, we loved the house - its charm and nooks and crannies and space. The Grandchildren are already asking when can we go back to Grandma’s special house? Soon, I hope! We had no issues and never had to contact the owner. I was happy to have talked to him just before we left and found out a bit about the house’s fascinating history. He is a very personable man. I am sure that if we had any issues, they would have been resolved immediately.

  • Large House, Little Dated but in a Great Location

First and Foremost, we had a wonderful stay. The house was big enough to accommodate 17 people with proper beds for sleep. We didn't ever feel that we were so many people together. The location is awesome and Lake Erie was stone's throw away. The Park in front of the house is nice and the small pier on the lake was a great place to hang out and take pictures. Pros: Big property with enough beds for 15-17 people Nice location with awesome view of the Lake Master Bed room is large and beautiful Nice Washer and Dryers Not very expensive Cons: The owner is very unresponsive. He never responds to the message on VRBO, neither picks up the call. The only good part is that he stays in a Studio House next to the property. Kitchen is small and the Utensils and equipments are old TVs are really old Bathroom Doors Don't Lock Ice Maker is Broken Toilet and Kitchen Supplies were not there, we had to go to Walmart to buy Toilet Papers, Dish and Hand Wash etc.
