My 7 childhood friends and I plan a fishing trip every Fall and we are big on the following three things; 1.) Cottage 2.) Lake 3.) Distance. This awesome cottage delivered in all three areas. First of all, it has all the amenities of a traditional house... It is bright, clean and spacious. It is stocked with everything you can think of including Satellite TV and Wi-Fi. My friends and I are familiar with Lake Dalrymple having spent a great deal of time fishing the lake over the years and once again on this trip it did not disappoint. We caught approximately 20 fish over the weekend and the biggest catch was within 10 feet of the cottage dock.(5lb Northern Pike). The cottage is located approximately 25 minutes from Orillia which made our drive from the north end of Toronto less than 2 hours door to door which is always a big plus. The cottage is on flat land and easy to get to with lots of parking on the driveway. Last and certainly not least, our hosts Dana and Melissa were such a pleasure to deal with making the overall experience a 5 star weekend getaway. Thanks again Dana and Melissa for allowing my friends and I the opportunity to stay in your little peace of heaven.
MY FAMILY AND I LOVED THE COTTAGE ! Everything was very clean on our arrival and as we stayed we found all the other little things that made our stay so enjoyable. The kitchen was well stocked with extras such as tin foil, cling wrap, tupperware and spices. All these things are a nuisance to have to bring up to the cottage but make life difficult to be without.
The furniture and beds were very comfortable and in excellent condition.
We loved both the dock and the sandy shallow water entry beach where my grandchildren spent so much time. Again thoughtful sand toys were there for them to play with.
We took out the canoes and picniced on an island with our children and grandchildren and even enjoyed a quiet sunset outing by ourselves one evening before we lit our nightly campfire.
Alll in all it was a perfect fortnight and we all hope to repeat it again next year.
We only saw Murray a couple of times during our stay but it was reassuring to have him so close in case there was a problem.
Thanks for everything:) , Joann
