Arrived on a Saturday afternoon. Owner was very kind to accommodate early check-in to drop off luggage and head out to explore. Walking distance to ABC district. Close to restaurants and shopping. This was by far my favorite district in the area. Easy access to transit on 23rd. 2 large comfortable couches to stretch your legs and watch TV or read after a long day of walking/ exploring. Bedroom was quiet and comfortable. This rental provides a lot of room for your belongings. I appreciate the space for my boyfriend and I. I do not like to feel confined like you would in a hotel. Very small and basic kitchen. Great to make a cup of coffee in the morning (ground coffee provided thank you!) Toast a bagel or bread. Microwave and small fridge available. This was perfect for us. We planned to eat out and have basic necessities. Bikes are available with this rental. It was a great alternative to walking/transit. Portland is a huge biking town and there are many beautiful areas to explore by bike. I loved that this place was in a quiet neighborhood versus the busy/ loud city.

Dennis and Trude were incredibly gracious. Their “tall house” and the land it sits upon have a fascinating history. The space is comfortable, creative and full of pleasant little surprises: hidden cupboards of toys and napping spots, everything you could ever need in a bathroom cabinet, an endless set of backyard games, a cozy sauna. They were friendly and welcoming. In fact, when our flight was late and we got lost on the way from the airport, Dennis waited up past 11 PM for us and eventually provided turn by turn directions until we could see waving in the driveway. We loved our visit, our space and our saunas. We will have to come back for the tour of the old farm. Thank you!
