  • My quaint cabin get-away.

From the time I pulled down the hill in to the parking area I felt at home. Truly a home away from home. I stayed here for 9 days March 31, 2018 thru April 9, 2018 and I loved every day of my stay. Inside at night I sat on the couch and watched the small fireplace as I contemplated the day I had just had with my family. All of Oregon is nice but this area has so many sites to see that you can literally find your place in the World right here in this little part of Oregon. From the hiking trails, to museums, to river travel on a stern wheeler, river play with the kids, bird watching, historic buildings it is all within the area of this little cabin. Take a day discovering just what the area has to offer, find your favorite restaurant in nearby The Dalles, My two favorite restaurants were the Mexican restaurant El Mirador, and the Hawaian Restaurant Lilos Hawaian Grill, Although the Canton Wok is a favorite for me of all time it was closed this trip due to family vacation. For shopping needs to cook in the fully stocked cabin there is Safeway, Fred Myers, Grocery Outlet, and many other smaller markets to find just what you are looking for to cook each and every night. It is about an hour and a half to Portland for many other sites and eating places if you just want to see the countryside along the river driver. You can travel all the way to the coast and the beautiful beaches in about 3 1/2 hours if you desire to wade in the surf. Rowena Cabin has all the ammentities you would want for a get away weekend, forget about Tv and leave those phones at home this is a vacation spot that is all about you, take a relaxing bath in the claw foot tub, shower in the morning to the birds singing, look out the dining room window to watch the barges go by on the Columbia River. Have Coffee and Breakfast at the table while watching the horses prance around outside in the field. The yard is a bloom in flowers and so beautiful and it wasn't even in full bloom yet. As you can tell I very much enjoyed my stay in the Rowena Cabin, I spent a lot of time visiting family in the area and the enjoyed being at the cabin also. I will be back in the summer and I can't wait!
