The condo has a nice view of the The Ponte 25 de Abril. It is in Ajuda and you can easily walk down to the Belem area where there are many restaurants including the Pasteis De Belem which has the most famous Pastel De Nata's that exist. There is a Starbucks next door to it in case it's too crowded. There are many tourist attractions in Belem. Being our first visit to the area we didn't know what to expect and were pleasantly surprised to find out that Belem has many of the attractions to see. The train station is also within walking distance and in two stops you are in Lisbon and if you go in the other direction you can stop at any of the riverside towns including Cascais. We did have a rental car because we were touring much of Portugal but once we were at the apartment we didn't use it or need it. There is a parking lot as described that is right in front of the building. The apartment was well equipped. It was large and even though they didn't have air conditioning they provided two fans that made it very comfortable even on the hottest days as long as you remember to keep the shades down during the day. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had all of the things we needed including a washing machine and a place to hang close to dry outside. The only minor thing was that the hot water in the shower wouldn't last very long and abruptly turn cold. We would definitely stay here again if we go back to the area.
Isabel made us feel welcome in her beautiful home right away. Wonderful breakfast with fresh fruit, bread, cheese and more. Bedroom is not large but terrace is fabulous. There is an elevator to apartment and stairs to the bedroom which might be an impediment for some but not an issue for us. The neighbor and location are great. The big draw in Belem is the monastery but we really enjoyed the gelato/sorbet cafe across the street at the Belem Cultural Center, beautiful walks by the water, the burger place in town, the Maritime Museum and sunrises and sunsets from our bedroom terrace. Steps to all the Belem sights and town center, and easy trip to central Lisbon. Our hostess provided good restaurant recommendations and helped us with logistics and info on dealing with lines for nearby attractions. Special thanks to her for her help in making our stay memorable and comfortable!
