The remodeled stone structure is really something to see and I'm sure it can get a 5-star rating in the future with a little more cleaning (the home had a damp smell and lots of spider webs). Overall I really enjoyed the place but my companions were not sold on it due to the above items.
The home appears to have historical significance and is well appointed with all that you would need to cook (we did) and relax (we did).
It should be noted that there is a quarry nearby and truck traffic does run on nearby roads. However this was not a distraction... just don't be surprised by it.
The apartment was spotlessly cleaned and well maintained and it has absolutely everything you could need for a comfortable stay, including all the kitchen utensils you need to whip up your favourite comfort foods. We love staying in apartments or houses, so that we can spread ourselves out and do our own cooking whilst we work online.
The apartment is located in a peaceful area with a view across to the mountains from the lounge room which has a huge comfortable sofa, (large enough to spread out on and work on your laptop when you don't feel like sitting at the table). The wi-fi is great, and worked well for both of us to deal with everything we need to do online.
The local area is so pretty and peaceful that most days I preferred to walk to the supermarket or shops or coffeeshops to enjoy the tranquility of the area, although if you prefer to drive there is ample off-street parking right outside the apartment. We were always able to park directly outside the apartment terrace and all the local supermarkets have plenty of carparking spaces too.
There is a train station a short walk from the apartment so rather than drive into the craziness of the one-way streets in the centre, whenever we went into the CBD we just caught the train which took less than half an hour. There are buses at the bottom of the street too, but I never needed them. If you are going out anywhere and want to enjoy the local port or wine, you can easily grab an uber, cheaper than we expected and all the ones I encountered could speak English.
I'm not normally into high tech stuff, but I must confess I did enjoy the "smart lock". it was the first time I have encountered one and it was pretty cool. It was quite a relaxing and productive trip for us. The bed is incredibly comfortable too, (some mornings, it was a little too tempting to sleep in). I thoroughly recommend this place, everything was as described and he was super helpful with advice about where to find local services and attractions nearby. I look forward to coming back again one day.
