From the moment we arrived at Quinta da Bouca and stepped into Casa da Eira we didn't want to leave! The grounds are amazing, with terrific views and lovely fragrance in the air from the lemon and orange trees, as well as flowers. But it was the well-appointed house and the hospitality of Paula and the team that really made this an exceptional experience. The fridge was loaded with all the breakfast necessities (homemade jams, butter, juice, sausage, eggs, milk, water) minus the freshly made bread that would be delivered the next morning (and each thereafter). The decor was like being in someone's comfortable home - linens, towels were a tribute to the Portguese reputation for such; great outdoor furniture to enjoy the views. Loved hiking the grounds and visiting the animals. Paula was available and helpful whenever we had a question. We followed a number of the recommendations she provided in the welcome book at the house. Highly recommend the trip to Porto and also to Guimaraes, and dining at O Alpendre. We are home now and still missing this special place. Highly recommended! Thank you Paula from the Wilsons.
