  • Lovely, unique stone farmhouse among the olive trees.

This villa was by far the most unique, beautiful, and tranquil VRBO we have ever stayed in. Our host Antonio and his English speaking friend Joao met us in the down square of Lamego and show us the way to this casa. They were incredibly gracious and sat with us for an hour talking to us as old friends, treating us to a bottle of the local port and giving us pointers on what we should see and do in the area. Our host encouraged us to pick from the vineyard and garden. He gifted us a jar of honey from his personal hives. Antonio and Joa then gave us a tour of the amazing property which includes terraced olive trees, vegetable garden, chicken coop, citrus trees, and persimmons. The second morning, the farm caretaker, Antonio, brought us another bottle of port and olive oil that had been grown on the property. The home itself is very well appointed, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. My husband and I truly enjoyed the beauty of the setting and loved drinking coffee in the morning on the stone patio by the grape vineyards. I felt as if I were on a movie set. Thank you Mr. Pina for letting us stay in your beautiful home. It was a privilege!

  • The love our Portuguese hosts have for their land shines through...

It was a pleasure spending time at Tiago and Vania’s cottage on their lovely country hillside property. They were totally attentive and helped us in every way to orient ourselves to a small part of beautiful rural northern Portugal. The very old and rustic cottage we stayed in, adjacent to their house, was a real charmer. Thank you, thank you to our wonderful hosts!
