This house is simply perfect for a big group. Our group ranged in ages from 8-76 and there was something for everyone. The house was quiet, the location was peaceful, and the outdoor seating was a favorite spot even in the rain. The master bedrooms on the top floor feel like pure luxury. My children loved having their own bunk room and the adults appreciated that the tv room downstairs seemed soundproof! My children enjoyed exploring the beach for beautiful rocks and frogs. The pictures of the outdoor fire pit do not do it justice. It is the most gorgeous spot with the mossy cliff in the background. We had a few questions for the owner while we were staying there and she was always available right away. So helpful!! We would return again for sure and will recommend this house to anyone going to the area! This house was very hard to leave after living there for a week.

Close to town, the lake, the river and very peaceful, surrounded by farmland. Renovations so far are very nice but still keeping that historical atmosphere. Our two concerns were the noticeable odour from the water especially in the kitchen. This was probably due to heavy minerals in the water or fertilizer run-off from the farmland so we just bought a case of water for drinking - it didn't affect cooking at all. The other was that both bathrooms were on the second floor - completely normal but awkward and a safety concern for our 83 year old mother. A ground floor 1/2 bath and maybe a water filter or water dispenser would have made it near perfect. The charm of the creaky stairs and beauty of the woodwork made it unique and special - just like the chalet of my childhood in Québec! Overall, very well provisioned, super affordable, roomy, clean and comfortable; a real bargain for 5 people to spend time together for our family reunion nearby. A definite "A" rating.
