“a very nice stylish old house at the village centre. great place to discover the beautifull mountains of mallorca !”
“we had a lovely stay. nice pjace and great lication. thank you one small suggestion is to replace the coffeemaker as it did not work properly. and add a tea pot so one can serve more oersons at a time.”
We really enjoyed our stay at Can Cantonada during the holidays. The two-story flat has a great layout for a family of four like ours - the kids stayed in the bedroom on the ground floor, next to the kitchen, dining area, and a large bathroom, while we slept up on the second floor, with our own en-suite bathroom. The large but cosy living room is also on the second floor and has a fireplace in addition to lots of windows overlooking the village, so we spent a lot of time there when we were home. We were also able to use the small roof terrace off of the second floor to dine al fresco during the day.
We weren't sure what we'd be able to do given that we were going to be there the week of Christmas, but we found plenty to do. We especially enjoyed hiking around the area (thanks for letting us borrow your maps and guides!), biking around Port de Soller, exploring some of the other mountain villages, wine tasting in Binissalem, and seeing the cathedral in Palma. The flat is really close to the village grocery and bakery, so it was easy to pick up food and other supplies.
The nights were cool, but the fireplace and electric heater provided ensured that we were all warm and cosy. And we especially appreciated that Rachel and Andrew put up a few little Christmas decoration in the living room to make it feel festive.
The only thing that bothered us a little was the noise from the street - the flat is located in the center of the village right on the road that goes through it, so you could hear the cars and passersby. But the traffic was pretty light, and our kids didn't notice the noise at all. The convenience of being in the center of the village was worth the trade-off, I think.
