  • An ideal base for a wine tour of Priorat

El Llindar was a true gem—a lovely home in a spectacular location, and an ideal vantage from which to enjoy the dramatic, rugged vistas of the Priorat region and its world famous wines. Tucked into the tiny clifftop village of Siurana—a medieval time capsule of only a few dozen inhabitants, inexplicably home to multiple delicious restaurants and jaw-dropping views—the cozy stone home was pleasantly decorated and well-suited for groups. The space is modern and ample, the bedrooms and bathrooms spotlessly clean and comfortable, and the kitchen fully-equipped. Above all, it was full of character and period charm, and the lovely shaded terrace—the hardest part to leave—offered amazing views of the surrounding canyons. Núria was helpful and responsive in planning for our trip, and Mercé and Bennett were present upon arrival to help us get settled in. Parking is easy and only a short walk from the front door; there is also a seasonal shop steps from the home selling local food items and wines. We were somewhat surprised--given the lack of a store in the village--to find that the home lacked certain basic items, e.g. handsoap in the restrooms (or any toiletries), paper towels in the kitchen, coffee, etc., and we had to travel to the nearby village of Cornudella de Montsant to stock up on some essentials. Despite this, El Llindar is a house that is hard not to love; it is worthwhile for the dramatic location alone, but the comfort, style and pleasant/easy rental experience made it truly difficult to leave.
