What can you say about a 300 year old cottage, it has the vintage feel of a historic cottage but fully equipped with modern amenities. The heated floor was great as we were there in October and had some cold weather. The kitchen had everything you needed although we didn't use it much. The new shower was great, good pressure and plenty of hot water. Plenty of linens, a wood burning stove, a TV, and WiFi (which was a bit slow). Clyde was a wonderful host making sure there was coffee, hot chocolate, tea, and cream. He also had a bottle of wine waiting for us. Clyde was very kind and helpful answering all of our questions about places to see, eat and especially traffic signs and rules of the road. The place has it's own driveway to park your car. Although you are out in the country there were a handful of places to eat nearby, also a small market down the road a bit. East Woodyates is a small and very quiet neighborhood, and Central Salisbury is only 15 minutes away by car. We wish we had more time at Monk's Cottage so we could have spent time in the lovely garden. We'd stay in Monk's Cottage again, and if you will be visiting the Salisbury area and want the feel of Olde England this is the place for you.

We had a wonderful stay at The Piggeries. We were 7 adults and we had plenty of room. Everything felt clean and new and it was great that each bedroom had its own bathroom. The views are incredible across the Dorset countryside and it was a perfect base to explore the surrounding area. We would definitely stay there again.
