  • Comfortable and relaxing retreat in an historic and picturesque setting

The Blue Door Cottage was just what my friend and I needed for the last week of our visit to the UK. The cottage is charming, comfortable, and well-appointed, and we were able to slow down, relax, and feel at home for a week (with our own separate bedrooms). We didn't have a car and found we didn't need one. The cottage is centrally located for walking around the village of Porthlevan, enjoying the harbour, beach, sunset off the pier, and local pubs and restaurants, and within easy access to coastal walking paths and local buses to neighbouring villages (we arrived via train to Penzance then bus to Porthlevan, and found it was very easy to do day-trips to Marazion and St. Michel's Mount, St. Ives, Helston, etc by bus from Porthlevan). The only way we could have improved on our stay was to stay another week!

Lovely cosy little cottage, with everything we needed. Wonderful scones and clotted cream on arrival. Yum! Great to be able to take the dog.
