  • Ideal English country home away from home
    5 of 5

The Dairy House met and far exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect, far away from the maddening crowds, yet just a 5 min drive, or 20 walk into the village of Illminster. What a delightful path! The beautiful countryside surrounding us on all sides was wonderful to wake up to each morning with not a soul in sight, except for the peaceful sheep grazing the in fields. The house itself could not have been laid out in a more perfect plan. At one time there were 8 of us, yet it did not feel crowded with plenty of room for all of us to enjoy each other’s company, or to find a quiet space for a moment alone. We found ourselves lacking nothing…. there were plenty of bathrooms, a well-appointed kitchen, wonderful laundry room, garden area complete with a grill for outdoor cooking, and our favorite space, the conservatory where we had coffee each morning. I highly recommend this property for an ideal English country holiday.

  • I could not be more delighted with Bensley Cottage
    5 of 5

The cottage is beautifully and tastefully furnished with every last detail addressed, including all the items needed for breakfast the morning following arrival. Kirsty is a very attentive host who is concerned that her guests are comfortable, stress-free and have all they need for a most enjoyable stay, no matter the length of stay (mine was 4 weeks). Bensley cottage is situated within an easy walk to the railway station ,to the bus stop, to the Tourist Information office, to Sainsbury's and Waitrose, to the Abbey, to the shops along Cheap Street, and to the biweekly Farmer's Market. It is also a quick and easy walk to the long-stay car park conveniently located two minutes from Sainsbury's. All appliances are quite new and not difficult for a foreign person such as myself to operate. Yes, I do highly recommend Bensley Cottage and I thank Kirsty for helping to make this a most memorable holiday for me. Suzanne Stapely
