My husband and I stayed at the Stables for 10 days while visiting my daughter and her family. It exceeded our expectations. The flat was even more spacious, modern and bright than what we expected from the photos. Both bedrooms and bathrooms are roomy and comfortable. The open floor plan kitchen/living space was ideal for meal preparations and hanging out together. All rooms have high ceilings and lovely architectural details held over from the stable days. The conversion from stable to home was done beautifully with wonderful finishes and color choices. I appreciated the individual thermostats in each room, so I could warm up the room I was in, while my husband could enjoy a cooler setting elsewhere. The bathrooms both have heated towel racks, which not allowed towels to dry quickly, but could be used to dry laundry quickly. At first we were concerned because there was a washing machine and no dryer and it rained most days. This ended up not to be a problem because items dried quickly on the towel racks. The yard is grassy and fully fenced in with private parking and an electronic gate. The location is super. The flat is on a quiet, lovely residential street. Immediately outside the front gate is the best park in the area with wonderfully creative playground equipment, huge grassy fields, beautiful landscaping and extensive walking paths. Also right outside the front gate is a public library in the beautiful old estate to which the Stables used to belong. The flat is a 3 minute walk to the grocery store and high street (coffee shops, restaurants, pharmacy, etc.). It is a 3 minute walk to the bus stop to catch the bus to the airport or London or the bus to downtown Oxford. Downtown Oxford is only a short and inexpensive bus ride away. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit. The owners live right next store and are super friendly and helpful.
