About this property

This 16th century house, restored with respect for the architecture of the time, includes a 3-room gîte of 90 m², this gîte has an independent private entrance, a large living-dining room and open kitchen which allows very friendly, rooms with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and very practical laundry room. The small garden is a plus when the weather is nice it invites to laze around .. the walks are assured with, the stage in the forest (tree climbing) at 5 minutes, the city of Villedieu-les-poêles city of crafts and history and its bell foundry 10 minutes away, Mont-Saint-Michel 50 minutes, and the landing beaches about an hour by car.

The tenants are completely independent, and have at their disposal the necessary for the kitchen, as well as the dishwasher, the washing machine and dryer.

There is a supermarket, bakeries, butchers, delicatessens open between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., several are also open on Sunday morning. These stores are located 3 km from the cottage, you will find everything you need.

Charming, Clean and Comfortable

Of the many VRBO rentals we have stayed in over the years, this one ranks at the top of the list. It is super-clean and it's clear that Brigitte takes a great deal of pride in making sure that her guests are comfortable. It is located in a very quiet rural setting away from the sightseeing crowds, but in a spot where you can easily access the Normandy beaches, Bayeux and Caen (including the famous Apple Cider route) and Mont Saint Michel. The Gite itself is quite spacious, with a large downstairs kitchen (including a beautiful long table for eating) and sitting/TV area and then two good size bedrooms upstairs with a very modern bathroom. It also has all of the modern advertised amenities. Brigitte is very quick to respond to emails and upon your arrival she shows you where everything is and how everything works. Instructions for things like running the dishwasher and washing machine and dryer are written out, as are directions to a couple of good restaurants and a grocery store and gasoline station which are located nearby. As for directions to the gite, I would urge that you follow Brigitte's written instructions rather than anything your GPS tells you to do. Overall, we can't say enough good things about our stay at Brigitte's place. I doubt that many of the forthcoming rentals that we will be sure to have as we continue to travel will be anywhere as nice as this one.

Great place and great hosts!

It was beautiful! The place itself and the surroundings were perfect for us. Quiet and serene. We slept very well and enjoyed being in the countryside.

Beautiful and Relaxing

My wife, 15 month old daughter and I absolutely loved our stay in Brigitte and Daniel's Gite! The house itself was very spacious, extremely clean, and quite comfortable. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet we found here. The location in the countryside with the beautiful gardens and the surrounding farms and farm animals really helped us to all relax. Brigitte and Daniel were very helpful in their recommendations of local restaurants, markets, and a good time for visiting Mt. St. Michel. Although we were in this nice rural Gite, we had everything we needed (food, gas, restaurants, sites) within a short drive. Overall, I would highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone who is looking to get away, relax, and enjoy themselves in the Normandy region. We couldn't have been happier and if we have the opportunity to return to this region of France again, we would definitely return to the same rental home!!!!!

The perfect location from which to see Normandy.

Simply beautiful! The perfect place to tour the surrounding Normandy attractions and the perfect hosts. Briggete and Daniel made us feel like we were home. The setting is in the country with only a friendly cow to see as your neighbor. The apartment was very clean and tastefully decorated with everything a family needs including use of the washer and drier. The gardens around the house were in full bloom and maintained to perfection. Although in the country, we were only 5 kilometers from the town of St. Sever for shopping and also enjoyable sightseeing. I highly recommend this Gitte to anyone that wants a relaxing , quiet, and centrally located vacation in Normandy.
