5 Star Rated Lakefront Home, AUGUST 27 and FALL WEEKS AVAILABLE

Overview

Property Details

Updated: Jul 18, 2016
3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, sleeps 10, 5 Queen Beds

PONTOON BOAT INCLUDED IN PRIME SUMMER WEEKLY PRICE FROM 06/25/16-08/27/16). NO CLEANING FEES OR EXTRA TAXES. Built new in 2000 and located on Sandy Bottom All Sports Twin Lake, this furnished home has an optional pontoon boat and kayaks package available at a low weekly rate of $500 on non prime summer weeks (no deposit) , central air and is only 10 minutes to downtown Muskegon, very popular Michigan Adventure Amusement Park and 30 minutes to the Port City Princess, Lake Michigan beaches and dozens of public golf courses. An open floor plan, Comcast cable and WIFI included, hardwood floors, central air and five ceiling fans will make a cool vacation. Very kid friendly with a deck and large windows to allow adults to keep an eye on the young ones . The Lake has bass and pan fish. We have 60 feet of private frontage, 5 quality queen beds and a firepit (a temporary fire pit may have to be in Spring if high water is present) plus NO EXTRA CHARGES (Note: Homeaway and VRBO do charge an extra fee so they can pay for their Superbowl ads) for Cleaning Between Visitors or Sales Taxes. We are on the quiet side of the lake only about 170 yards to an island perfect to play on. We average 40% repeat renters each year and lots of good comments. We have a Weber grill and we are only a short walk to a public park. A great place to build family memories.

This cottage built in 2000 with optional 20 foot pontoon boat (included in prime summer weeks) at a reasonable weekly rate is sure to make a memorable vacation. Every year we have very good comments that it is clean upon arrival and how nice it is. Horse shoes and a fire pit are other features we failed to mention. Muskegon, with its proximity to Lake Michigan, is not as hot as many areas of West Michigan. 4 of the 5 beds were bought new in 2005 or after. Most of the place was repainted in 2006 and a nice propane Weber grill assures you great cookouts. Unlike some owners our weekly price has no taxes and we pay for the housekeeper between visitors.

Very nice home and location!

  • 4 of 5

Very nice home and location. Certain items in home are better than displayed in pictures (living room, laundry room, and pontoon). Other items such as the beach area could use some work to match the pictures on the site. Home is clean and neighbors are very friendly! The only bummer for us was not having wifi/tv for a day due to Comcast issues and being notified early in the week that we couldn't swim in the lake for 2 days of our vacation due to treatment for swimmer's itch. Comcast issue was clearly unavoidable - unclear if the lake treatment for swimmers itch was something pre-scheduled and not communicated to us or was something scheduled by DNR w/o any notification. Overall, a good experience..

Owner's Response: We appreciate your review. Most inland lakes are sprayed for swimmer itch and weeds to make swimming and boating a better experience and in 16 years we have never found this to be an issue with other renters. At the beginning of the year we are given estimated times for the spraying to occur yet never exact dates. We have also noticed that many people (including our own kids who we had bathe after ) have still swam on days of these postings and have never heard of any ill effects from doing so. You are correct in that certain items were better than displayed yet forgot to mention the following updates since our photos: kitchen table, tables and swing on deck, steps leading off the deck, pedal boat, TV, blinds and curtains, and the washer, dryer and refrigerator so we thought those items may be pertinent for others who read our only less than 5 star review. We just posted updated photos of the exterior as our intent is always to paint a true picture. We have also had countless compliments of what a nice surprise it was to have so many items nicer than the photos. Obviously, we have no control over our Comcast Triple Play going out for a day yet we apologize for that.

Great Vacation for the Kids

  • 5 of 5

My family had a wonderful vacation staying at this lakefront rental home near Muskegon. We stayed just after memorial day. While Lake Michigan was quite chilly at this time, the small lake in the backyard was beautiful. We enjoyed taking the paddle boat and row boat out on the water, sunsets on the water were gorgeous! I have two young children, ages 1 and 4, and they both loved staying at the house. The backyard has a gradual slope into the water which was perfect for the kids to play in. They also loved playing in the sandbox just outside the backyard. We made smores in the firepit in the evenings and grilled out on the back deck for most meals. There is a Meijer grocery store just 15 minutes away for supplies. There is a community park nearby with a playground for the kids to get their energy out. Even though we were early in the season, there were small fish in the lake just out the backyard. My 4 year old had her first fishing lessons on the boat dock, and also enjoyed feeding the turtles that were living under the boat dock. The only thing I forgot to pack was Off bug repellent, the mosquitos were out in droves in the early mornings and at sundown. We drove to Grand Haven one day to enjoy the beach and Lake Michigan, it was about 45 minutes away. We had a fun and relaxing summer vacation!

More than we expected.

  • 5 of 5

Property was just described. The house was very clean and spacious. We had a great time. I just wished that the weather was more cooperative. Mr. Tardani was very helpful and gave us a great rate. My kids loved it. I had a hard time getting my five year old to come inside. She actually fell asleep on the deck a few times. Thank you

Twin Lake vacation 104092

  • 5 of 5

I enjoyed this vacation with my family very much. I know pictures can be deceiving but this cottage was very clean, roomy and comfortable. My granddaughter enjoyed the sand and the lake which was perfect for her. I had a few questions when we first arrived and the owner responded to our issues right away. I would like to return to this cottage again and I would recommend it. My son brought his boat and the neighbor was very helpful getting it in and out of the water. We visited Lake Michigan at Duck Lake State park and that was beautiful. One of my sons visited Muskegon one day and he enjoyed that.

Fantastic Place

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the house the week before Memorial Day and had a wonderful time. There was 6 people in our group, including 2 kids ages 1 and 3 and the grandparents. The house was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the outside had great sand for the kids and the deck was great to sit and relax. I would definitely recommend renting the pontoon. Although the lake is not the biggest, the pontoon is in great condition and fun for the entire family. They also include a row boat and paddle boat. Fishing off the pier was fun, as my 3 year old son enjoyed reeling in his first fish off the pier. It was a nice 16 inch bass. We met the owner on the first day and he was very friendly and offered places to go in the area and fishing advice. It was nice to meet him and after the first meeting he never bothered us again. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to get away to a nice lake house with clean accommodations, lots of sand for kids, good bass fishing on the lake, fun water boats, and a good host.

Location

From the Owner

Back in the late 1990's, my wife and I looked for a place in the Twin Lake area on the water yet all we found were old homes that needed a lot of TLC. When an opportunity came to build what we wanted on a great lot away from all the boat traffic, we did not hesitate.

Activity and Interests

Car: recommended

Twin Lake is an inland all sports lake with excellent swimming, fishing and its own private island less than 200 yards away. Michigan Adventure, Which seems to expand every year, is only ten minutes away and you will want to spend a day either going to the pristine Lake Michigan beaches or watching a Lake Michigan sunset on the Port City Princess.

Other Activities: all water sports, pedal boat and rowboat included

Amenities

From the Owner

A good floor plan with the main bedroom away from the second story bedrooms where the kids sleep, no steep hills to climb and the abilty to watch the young ones right from inside the home add to the appeal of our place. Our motto is to give renters what we would want in a rental, good beds, good linens, modern appliances and a clean place to arrive to while incorporating features such as central air, and a good internet and cable package.

We have oak hardwood floors, 9 foot ceilings, and solid core doors throughout. There is a boat launch a couple of blocks away and you can keep a boat for your week at the dock. We do not recommend boats over 18 feet or deep V boats.
